How it's done
First we pull the EFI chip off your logic board.
Actually that's pretty much the way it used to be done. We really weren't thrilled with the idea of monkeying with your hardware, so we decided there had to be an easier way.
So we put our best people on it, and with the help of an Apple hardware genius we came up with a solution that lifts the lock without disturbing the hardware.
We can't tell you exactly how it's done (confidentiality agreements and other legal mumbo jumbo). We can tell you that the process is different for every model and year. And Apple likes to keep it interesting by throwing a monkey wrench in every so often, like changing the way the lock is stored on the EFI chip when High Sierra came out.
You can send us your locked computer with confidence. We are current on all models and methods, and are constantly working to stay up to date.
